About Us
The Rose & Crown has been giving hospitality to travellers since 1750 & our pub offers a warm welcome with good home cooked local food and fine ales & wines.
In February 2011 we were awarded 5 stars in the Environmental Health Food Safety Inspection.
We have a range of real ales usually including Jennings Bitter, Jenning's Dark Mild with regular guest ales such as Jennings Crag Rat.
Solway CAMRA awarded us Winter Pub of the Season 2009 and we are included in the 2011 Good Beer Guide.There are 150 Real Ale outlets in our area and only 22 made it into the guide!
Situated on the main A6 road the pub has a vintage transport theme throughout with coach seats in the bar area and many paintings of vehicles of times gone by.
The dining room theme is based on the Royal Scot train and has railway memorabilia and model trains.
Families & children are welcome especially on Sunday's when alongside our normal menu & specials board we do our traditional Roast Beef dinner.
We also cater for special dietary requirements and the majority of our dishes are suitable for those on a gluten free diet.
Our dining room will comfortably seat up to 54 people so we can cater for parties & get togethers along with christenings & funeral teas.
This room is also available for meetings by arrangement.
We have disabled access and toilet facilities.
We also have special events during the year with quizzes, live music & themed menus.
