Marston’s reinforces allergen safety leadership through Allergen Awareness Week

20th April 2026

Led by colleagues across its operations team and Pub Support Centre, Marston’s is supporting Allergen Awareness Week as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening awareness, understanding and leadership around allergen safety throughout its business.

For guests living with food allergies, allergen safety is not just about process - it’s about trust, carefully choosing where they eat and drink based on confidence that their needs will be understood and taken seriously. While Marston’s pubs continue to deliver strong food safety standards, with over 95% achieving a 5‑star EHO rating, allergen management demands an additional level of care, consistency and attention to detail, with no margin for error.

Neil Campbell, Chief Operating Officer at Marston’s, said:

“When it comes to allergens, guests place a huge amount of trust in us to get it right every time. Allergen Awareness Week is about reinforcing that responsibility and ensuring our people have the knowledge, confidence and leadership to make safe decisions - especially in high‑pressure, everyday situations.”

Activity taking place across Marston’s during Allergen Awareness Week includes:

  • Sharing real stories from guests and colleagues through internal and external communications, highlighting how clear allergen conversations and thoughtful decision‑making directly impact guest confidence and safety
  • Targeted allergen guidance and reminders, reinforcing what good practice looks like and supporting consistent, informed decision‑making across training and operations
  • A dedicated training focus, including a takeover of our Campus training platform, featuring allergen safety resources and in‑person allergen training taster sessions for Pub Support Centre colleagues
  • Celebrating our Allergen Champions and the work of the Marston’s Foundation, recognising individuals and teams who consistently role‑model strong allergen behaviours and help set the standard for others

If you or someone you care for is living with allergies, Allergy UK’s Self‑Help Hub offers practical advice, guidance and support to help people navigate diagnosis, symptoms and everyday life with greater confidence.
