New Ollerton’s Plough crowned best pub for guest experience
14th January 2026
The Plough in New Ollerton has been recognised for its outstanding feedback from guests, bagging a national award and being named Marston’s Pub of the Year for Best Guest Experience.
Beating out over a thousand pubs from across the country to take the top spot, The Plough has been recognised for going above and beyond for its guests, achieving some of the strongest guest experience scores anywhere in the Marston’s estate.
As the beating heart of New Ollerton, the pub has become a true community hub playing host to various local sports teams, as well as the local Women’s Institute. Marston’s bosses noted it’s a place where everyone feels welcome, whether they’re popping in for a quiet pint, joining a darts night, or enjoying one of the pub’s popular themed music evenings.
Josh Daggett, Licensee at The Plough, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to win this award. It’s a real team effort – my partner Jessey and I put our heart into everything we do at the pub.
“For us, it’s all about creating a space where people feel at home. When we took over three years ago, the pub had lost its identity. Now, it’s a place where people come together, whether they’re here every week or just coming out for the first time in years.”
Known for its friendly atmosphere and community spirit, The Plough has worked hard to make every visit special for guests, hosting everything from a variety of tribute acts to casual, in-house darts and pool leagues. The pub prides itself on giving locals a reason to come together.
Josh added:
“To see such fantastic guest feedback is brilliant. Especially when it comes to the variety of live music we provide, an area which we’ve really worked on in the past year.
“We empower our team to make every interaction count and it’s why winning this award is so special. That quick chat over the bar might be the only conversation someone has all day, so we make sure it matters. It’s not just about pouring a pint, it’s about creating moments people remember.”
